Fish or Fisherman?

If I was the fish would I rather
Be the fisherman, in whose nets I'd gather
The catch of the day from the deep blue ocean
The scent of the sea in perpetual motion

If I were the sea would I rather
Be the land whose silent shores would gather
All the fishermen's boats with their sails aflutter
And the slap of the waves on the keel and rudder

If I were the waves would I rather
Be the fish who in their schools would gather
In their cities of stone where the world moves slowly
And the mysteries of wind on the water console me.
